I remember in the 1980's doing a cost analysis on the purchase of a
document storage system for Kmart.  The cost was $100,000. We had a manager
make us stand in front of a pile of boxes filled with paper who told us we
had to reduce our use of paper. We didn't buy the system and we continued
to use a lot of paper for a long time.
