Hi All,
	After struggling for months with my tracking software of choice; Prey
Project; I gave up and ordered a pet tracking GPS/LTE tag from Tractive.
Looking back I should have done it much sooner. I did also look at
getting Kensington Clicksafe locks, but I usually keep my laptop with me
and that would become a hassle which means I will end up not using it.
Don't get me wrong, I still use and recommend Prey for my Android
devices. I've been using Prey for over ten years, but with a laptop
using Prey, you are dependent on the thief using/booting the laptop
before the software is able to start tracking. Not so with Android
devices. By using a dedicated tag I can start tracking immediately upon
loss w/o waiting for the laptop to start. Which is also very usefull
when I forget where I left it. The fact that the tag will need charging
is a non issue for me, because the laptop gets plugged in daily anyway.
The cost is also not an issue for me because I allready pay for Prey
Project. Prey is free for several devices, but then is a reasonable
monthly amount. Tractive is not free, but again what i feel a reasonable
amount. Pet tracker because currently they are the smallest weatherproof
long range tracker available, who knew. Offered FWIW YMMV.
