[mdlug] Keeping email address with new website

Hello,

My church is in the process of creating a new website with Wordpress on a different web hosting site than we have now (I think that it will be Bluehost). My pastor wants to make sure that we can keep his current email address. Our current email service with the church is SmarterMail, and the @ is the web address for our current website. 

So, my question is if it is enough to just transfer our domain name to the new web hosting site and then create the new address with the same name as with the old website.
