[mdlug] Did anyone attend the July MDLUG meeting?

All,

I apologize to those who attended, and will try to prevent another
such disappointment.

Since I've seen no other information,
I'll summarize what I've learned in the last week.

President Bob Meier had a months-previously scheduled event to attend.
The Vice president, Gib, and Webmaster, Carl, were contacted ~Jun 15
and both Gib and Carl expected to attend.

One of Carl's clients suffered an unexpected outage,
 and Carl was unexpectedly resolving the issue.

Gib likewise had a last minute situation to deal with.


The presenter, Nicholas Nicholas, did not respond to email nor phone
between June 15 and July 8.

Nicholas was on jury duty, until Saturday(?), incommunicado.

We will need to reschedule Nicholas Nicholas presentation.

A beginning of school year event will exclude us from the library in August.

Our next meeting at the library will be Sept 9.

Presentation: Joe Miller (KJ8O) and Brian Johnston (W8TFI) are licensed
amateur radio operators who will demonstrate digital radio modes useful
to connect computer to computer over distances (multi-mile) well beyond
normal wifi. They will explain how to get started, where to get software
for unlicensed operation, and how to get local help from the American
Radio Relay League to earn a radio operator license. Bring your FRS
radio, laptop with sound card, and audio cables. Joe Miller and Brian
