[mdlug] How to determine what version of HDMI or DisplayPort spec is in use?

So far, I haven't found anything that gets that specific info, and the monitor just shows "HDMI" or "DP" (DisplayPort).

One minor good thing - on Windows, I noticed pretty bad screen tearing when watching 1440p YouTube video. This was completely absent on Linux (Ubuntu 14.04). I've run into a few other issues (games on Linux are often confused by multiple monitors) but maybe I'll do a writeup about that later.

This may be trivial but check in the settings menu of your monitor. I checked in the menu of my Dell monitor and found that it has display port v1.2 .
