Years ago I learned that NTFS is not case sensitive,
but it is case preserving.  So once a file gets
created, it can be referred to in a case insensitive
manner.  That means if you try to write to a file
that is spelled the same as an existing file but
with different cases, you will overwrite the original
file's contents and keep the original file's name.
