Thanks for the suggestion. Also, I wrote a custom udev rule so when the operator plugs in the drive, it scans the device, opens the encrypted volume, mounts the drive, then copies the data to the USB drive. Once it is complete, it updates the logs, unmounts the filesystem, closes the volume and prompts the user to remove the device. The whole operation is fully automated.
