I talked to a couple of the support staff at the library today. They seemed very positive and supportive. They will talk to the management of the library next. Hopefully, we will have word soon.

If this is approved by the library then we will have some options. We could continue to meet in our current location for the next several meeting or we could move the meeting to Dearborn. We can talk about this in our meeting this month (same location as last month).

They also were interested in any additional training or workshops that we might do. They get requests from people looking for help with some specific needs. They mentioned they had two people ask about video editing. They have older people who want to know how to use Facebook.

They currently have some Micosoft Office training. I said we could do something with open source. They were aware of Libra Office (they called it Open office at first). They thought it might be good to put some open source video editing software on their computers for the public to use.

They have a computer room with a dozen "older" computers. They want to upgrade. I told them about LTSP and some of the things Mat was able to do in the old location in Inkster.

I found someone at the City of Dearborn Henry Ford Centenial Library to talk to about use of some space to have our meetings. They are wondering what we can do for them. I suspect I can explain what we are all about. I was just hoping to get ideas from the members.

We can have our normal, technical (okay, boring) unstructured discussions.
Maybe we can provide some technical presentations.

Does anyone think we can put together more formal training?
Education series for the masses?
Community help for non-technical people provided by geeks?
Focus sessions on topics of interest in technical areas?
Geek topics - scifi, science, gadgets.
Programming classes.
Security (wifi use, key management, web use tips).
Career day.
Vendor product display.
