[mdlug] Won't print black

I am having problems with my printer handling black graphics.  Text is 
fine, but GIMP or Open Office pure black is missing.

I have looked around the printer settings and can't find anything that 
remotely looks like a setting to fix.

Any ideas?

openSUSE 12.1  HP ColorLaserJet 3600n, HP toolbox.
