Pete can have it, but thanks for the offer! For GPS purposes, what I've got is sufficient, and I might just try to repair it. Taking it apart doesn't look *too* complicated... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dE81IaQHEHc

Should be able to at least beat the headphone jack and charging socket into shape.

If anyone cares, my short list right now is OsmAnd, Navit (both use Open Street Map data), and Google Maps offline. We'll see how it works out.
