I found and fixed the problem with the archives not showing
the subject properly.  The odd thing is that we have about
50 messages in the October 2012 archive with the subject
"No subject" and apparently from April 2008.

This appears to be a symptom of a slightly different format
in the headers in the mbox files.  For now I plan to just leave
them where they are rather than muck with the mbox file.
