Long term contract position in Dearborn, MI.

Linux engineer will be responsible for planning, development,
implementation and maintenance of the overall integration of the
computing platform, e.g. hardware, systems software, operating
systems, and storage for hosts and/or clients running the Linux
operating system. Key responsibilities: Build, test and certify the
Linux operating system against X86 hardware. . Plan and implement
configuration of software and/or hardware, e.g. SAN, client, and host
on one or more platforms. . Responsible for optimal system performance
for Linux environments. . Manage and lead escalated support and
problem resolution activities for system hardware, software, and/or
operating systems; acting as L3 support for the Linux operating
system. . Lead and direct the development of support guidelines and
procedures with participation from Operations Analysts and Architects.
. Train Operations staff on supporting solutions defined for Linux. .
Build, test and certify virtualization technologies for the Linux
operating system. . Provide development and L3 support for Linux OLA-2
solution and for the Linux based FlashCopy solution.

Skills Required:

. Performs at an extremely high level of technical competence and
maturity. . Ability to communicate effectively with application
developers. . Ability to be a self-starter, looking for improvements
to processes and business offerings. . Ability to clearly explain
technical issues in a non-technical fashion. Ability to create
complex, technical documentation for operational use. Ability to
handle multiple complex projects at one time. . 5+ years of experience
with Linux. 2+ years of experience with any other UNIX operating
system. Experience working in a server operations role for a large
heterogeneous environment. General infrastructure knowledge, e.g.,
SAN, network, database, and server hardware. Good Communication Skills
and ability to utilize desktop tools to accelerate communications
(Wikis, IM, WebEx, etc.). Experience with Java, Javascript, HTML,
Perl.
