SYNOPSIS:
Product Specialist is the resident expert of the Industrial PC product
line and assists in the strategic planning, marketing and sales of the
products. S/he is involved in the entire lifecycle of the product.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
� Perform detailed market studies to aid in new product development.
� Launch products to other regional business units, <Corporate> global
sales subsidiaries, or end customers as required.
� 30 to 50% travel to be expected, including some international travel.
� Develop a structure with the RBU Product Manager for product
development within existing product areas (product additions or
modifications for the market).
� Assist in developing and implementing a product road map in
collaboration with the RBU Product Manager.
� Understand the details of the Product development process (Business
Unit headquarters) and required specifications for all CIS products.
� Assist in the coordination and qualification of third party
suppliers and resources required for the development and financial
success for proposed products or concepts.
� Assist the RBU Product Manager in the documentation, implementation,
coordination, and project management of product requirements,
marketing plans, policies, programs and sales efforts within the area
of product responsibility.
� Travel and participate in market activities such as specialty trade
shows, conferences, key customers and forums to gain closer access to
industry trends.
� Support customer specific projects as required, including custom
product development and related project management when required.
� Work with RBU Product Manager in testing of competitive products and
generating reports on the results.
� Work with RBU Product Manager to in the creation of marketing
documents required for projects according to the <Corporate>
Development Process.
� Participate in the product launch process as required, including
final internal and external product beta testing and customer feedback
phases.
QUALIFICATIONS:
� Engineering (BS or associates) degree, or equivalent technical work
experience.
� 1+ Years Product Marketing or product development experience
� Working knowledge of Microsoft Office: Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
� Detailed reporting and oral/written communication skills.
� In depth working knowledge of the products and technologies of
business unit Automation.
� Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently.
� Ability to work in a dynamic team environment and take direction
from team leaders in addition to direct supervisor.
� Knowledge and experience with PLCs, Industrial PCs, PC-based control
and HMI, and related products
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
� Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
� Must be able to travel for trips up to 12 hours.
� Must be able to ride in a car for 4 hours at a time.
