[mdlug] Ubuntu 11.10 lightdm xdmcp

I'm trying to setup xdmcp on my new unbuntu install but it appears that 
they swapped out the default gdm for the new lightdm. I found the option 
that supposedly enables it to listen for xdmcp calls and see in the log 
that it at least claims to be prepared to receive them, but when I try 
to connect with my cygwin box, it can't get a connection. I also tried 
telnet'ing to port 6000 with no response. Is there something I'm missing 
like a hosts.allow entry or something and if so what is the syntax? Is 
there any kind of firewall rules in ubuntu 11? I got no response with an 
iptables query.
