The “Reign of Freedom” is nearly upon us, as the 2012 Indiana LinuxFest
kicks off this Friday at the Wyndham Indianapolis West hotel.
Friday will have a number of classes available, including LPIC 101 Exam
Cram, Python For Linux System Admins, Learning Puppet Tutorial, and
FreeBSD for Linux System Administrators.
Saturday kicks off with the opening keynote speaker, Amber Graner, User
Experience and Community Specialist for Linaro. The closing keynote will
be given by Ian Murdock, Vice President of Platform Services at
ExactTarget and founder of Debian. In between, more than two dozen talks
will be given on a variety of topics. There will also be vendor booths,
a Hackerspace village, and more.
Registration and attendance is free, but it does help to give us an idea
of how many to expect if you pre-register. It also speeds up your
check-in if you are already registered, so please go to
http;//www.indianalinux.org and register today. Online registration ends
Thursday evening.
There is an optional paid supporter package available. Everyone who is a
paid supporter will be eligible to win a free HP laptop.
The room block at the Wyndham Indianapolis West Hotel is nearly sold
out. The person who reserves the rooms completing the block will get a
free room upgrade. To reserve your room, call 317-248-2481 or
877-361-4511 and tell them to add you to the Indiana LinuxFest block.
If you are interested in helping out as a volunteer to this year's
Indiana LinuxFest, there will be a volunteer's meeting Thursday, April
12, at at 6 p.m. at the Wyndham Indianapolis West Hotel. The exact room
number of the meeting will be determined.
