It may be that sometimes it is receiving an inadvertent key stroke causing it to wait either from yourself or a flakey keyboard

Subject: [mdlug] grub boot loader does not count down
Hello,
I have installed mythbuntu 11.04 on a laptop and I find that the Grub boot
loader screen does not (always) show a countdown. It just waits there with
the default OS (ubuntu) highlighted till a return key is pressed. My
/etc/default/grub has the following line
GRUB_TIMEOUT=10
I see the countdown from 10 seconds appear a few times. Any ideas?
Thanks
