I'd probably go with the Western Digital over the Samsung hard drive
just for the name brand, but have never had a problem with Samsung drives.

If you are just playing media and not editing or a lot of transcoding,
I'd think 5400 is fine even if it is slower. I'd expect the 5400 to use
less electricity.
I generally buy the cheapest power supply possible, but have been
thinking about energy efficiency lately. This PS says "energy star"
rated for just a few bucks extra:

I'd be interested in hearing what video capture device you use for your
MythTV if you pick one, as I'm ready to upgrade mine from analog to digital.
