[mdlug] Skype Alternatives

At Saturday's meeting when we were talking about MS's purchase of Skype, 
I had mentioned that what that means is that we [meaning the Free 
Software Community] should have done more to make sure that Open Wengo 
worked well.

Of course this is an overall reminder that we should all be striving to 
use and promote free software, in stead of simply using nonfree software 
that works well on GNU/Linux.

So instead of just preaching to the choir, does anyone know good 
alternatives? I've rarely used skype, but I've used Google Voice a lot, 
which is the same problem of being non-free software.

Has anyone used any tools that implement something like GNU Telephony?
