    I use a Dlink pcmcia wifi card for my older notebook. Worked
    out of the box with Xubuntu.     I've been able to reproduce the
    disappearing xfce panels at will ; from another post; and know how
    to stop it. I'n going to update the bug report one of these days.

    Yes, but that was a long time ago and I don't have that notebook
    anymore.
