*One* hard drive is a really terrible archival strategy,  you need at
least mirrored pairs in dual drive caddies.  This doesn't remain a cheap
strategy for long.  Or else two caddies who perform dual backups to.

DAT4 drives and media can be gotten quite inexpensively, are durable,
and the media last a l-o-n-g time.
