[mdlug] Dell Laptop dead??

It powers on for a couple of seconds before it shuts itself down. The same behavior with the power cord or battery powered. So the problem may not be in the connector.

I have tried the remove reseat the CPU as Aaron suggested without any luck. BTW, the last time it was up it froze suddenly and would not boot after that.

Some of the suggestions from googling indicate that the memory might have gone bad. I will try replacing memory.
