Here's a thought:

OObase.  Tie to default database, or tie into an enterprise database like JET^H^H^H MySQL using ODBC.

Really easy to set up, and you are not locked-in, and a nice RAD environment.

And, assuming you use MySQL, you can expand it to the web or other interface if/when you need.

Cheers, Mike

You can also use Acces JUST for the frount end and use an open source Database on the back end and tie the Data to client accounts.

This looks like a good discussion topic for our regular meeting on December 12th.

Thanks for the advice, everyone.  I know there are other CRM's and I
researched several.  As an open source guy, my first choice was Sugar CRM.
I downloaded it, installed it, and printed out the documentation; found the
user interface cluttered, confusing, and unclear and the documentation
poorly written; and I feel like I wasted dozens of hours on a bad app.  Out
of frustration, I've started to "roll my own" to get the straightforward app
it should be.  One of the things that intimidates some is the tens of
thousands of records I will be importing into it from different sources that
are laid out slightly differently.  I am looking deeper at Salesforce.com,
and I know there are other development frameworks.

I am making a basic CRM in MS Access.  It should be pretty simple - three
tables and a couple of forms.  I am not an Access person, but I am taking a
stab at it.  I was hoping there was somebody on this list with MS Access
experience.  I would like for us to meet at Panera or someplace like that
sometime soon, sit down with our laptops, and finalize it over dinner and an
hour or two.  I'll pay for the food.

Thanks in advance,

-          Andrew Koper
