I've read that sevearl times and always assumed I had Exchange 2003, simply
because our default application at work is MS Outlook 2003. Looking back on
it now, that was a pretty stupid assumption as the two are propably
unrelated. I'm not sure how I'd determine that for certain. "My IT" guys are
all in France, so that's not very reasonable, and if I do ask them for this
kind of info via e-mail, or from "our computer" guy (the tech support
manager) I usally get a response along the line of:

"you don't need to know that, quit using that hippie freeware"
"uhm, its not freeware"
"whatever"

> There's a newer plugin for Evolution that uses OpenChange
(http://www.openchange.org/) that uses the native MAPI protocol rather
than going through the exchange web client. I doubt it's in *buntu
8.10 or even 9.04. I plan to test it once Fedora 11 is released.

What's the MAPI protocol? that sounds interesting. I'm thinking about
switching distros anyways, *buntu is beginning to bore me, and each time I
"upgrade" it seems less functional and crashes more, I really like the new
Knoppix, and as such trying to find a good LXDE native distro, any
suggestions?

> The new plugin is in all of the buntu's starting with 9.04, I have not
tried
it yet though.

How would i go about getting that it doesn't automatically update, and I
thought I already had all of the evolution add on's per Synaptic.

> My workaround is to wait until after business hours (or the
network load otherwise drops) before trying to restore a connection.

Bob, most every time I try to access is "after hours" but as a fairly small
company >500, but spread out around 35 countries, there isn't really an
"after hours time"
