I've been happily using
+ Matrox PCI  card in Intel? 32-bit Dell box for 6yr?.
+ nVidia AGP  card in    AMD 64-bit HP   box for 2yr.
+ nVidia PCI? card in  Intel 32-bit      box for 15mo.
