For whatever reason Microsoft made .zip files transparent to users (they 
just open as a folder would) and that's why it's what I use exclusively 
at work.  Of course I do use the 7-zip shell extension to make all my 
.zip files.  Try sending a .rar around here and you'll just get a bunch 
of blank stares.  Zip is fine in this case, especially since it's a one 
time use archive.
