VM ware itself is pretty easy to work with.  I've also had really good luck with Sun's Virtualbox product (http://virtualbox.org), and to top it all off it is free.  I'm not sure how good performance is if you plan on running high-end games or anything like that.

How difficult is VM ware to set up?  I have a once in a blue moon use
for a couple of windows programs, but I would love ot ditch this windows
box eating room on my desk.
