People don't always have the time or interest in being educated. The vast
majority of people aren't like us technically oriented types. They don't
want to know this kind of stuff.

Ubuntu has a utility that you can use to create a burnable Live CD of the
currently running configuration. That means if you replace the desktop
image, run a slew of updates and install a pile of third party software, it
will generate a Live CD with those changes/configurations present. When the
install is run off that disc, it is supposed to apply those same
configurations to the new installation. (That's still being tested.)
