[mdlug] Setting up a home network

I do not see why

 Modem -->wireless router --> network (including mnewman-desktop)

will be an issue. The fairly old Linksys WRT54G router I have allows port forwarding from 'outside(modem)' to specfic IP/Ports in the local network keeping the other machines in the local network protected. For example, I have the following port forwarded (which can be turned off/on)

ssh - Port 22 - Both TCP/UDP - 192.168.1.102 - Enable On

So I can ssh to the local machine (192.168.1.102) from outside, when this port forwarding is enabled.
