[mdlug] knoppix does not see the hard disk on a laptop

I no longer trust knoppix to accurately detect hardware. It has problems
with certain sata chips and not only that does not seemingly provide
the modules for the ones it cannot auto detect. Seeing that you have
an IBM/Lenovo laptop my small IBM servers probably have the same
SATA chip in them. I also had the problem with an older Dell SC1400.
Got me P.O.ed till I realized that knoppix is now just a pale ghost of
what it used to be.
