 I dunno how Fedora does things, but you could look at the various
sound-related files and see what group owns them. I think fedora uses
"pulseaudio" which is a 'sound server' - apps don't actually talk to
the sound card, they talk to pulseaudio and *it* mixes things and
talks to the sound card on behalf of the apps.
