There are a lot of different netbooks around now but they almost all
consist of an Intel Atom N270 1.6Ghz processor, 1GB of DDR2 ram, an 8.9
or 10.1" screen and some kind of wireless b/g card.
I went with the Msi Wind U100 since it's got a 98% sized keyboard and a
120gb drive. I don't think the SSD pricepoint has really hit it's mark
yet. I've got Mint running on it since the pre-bundled version of XP
died and it's working fine so far. All in all they are nice little
computers for basic stuff (internet, mplayer / vlc, some gaming).

If you've got a little more money and patience I would wait until the
Samsung NC10 starts to become available. Overall nicer design and it's
got a supposedly anti-bacterial keyboard!
