[mdlug] How to rip CD faster?

I starting on converting my CD collection (300+) to digital. I started with 
Grip, but it it takes almost 30 to 40 minutes to rip just one CD. I have also 
tried KAudioCreater, but it is just as slow. I know Windows Media player can 
rip the same CD in about 4 minutes. (That is even on a PC that has half the 
CPU speed.) How can I get Linux to rip at a speed closer to 4 min per CD?
