Pat,
	I do believe most Intel cards are supported out of the box, using Yast
to set them up as Gary mentioned. I have an Intel(R) Wireless WiFi Link
4965AGN in a T61 that worked for me w/o any special antics using
opensuse 10.3. About the only thing I had to do was to put the line 
> S2RAM_OPTS="-f -a 3" 
into the file /etc/pm/config.d/config to get mine to suspend. The link

that, ThinkWiki and the forums are your friend.
