[mdlug] ext2 on USB drive?

Sorry for being terse, but I call BS on the "indications on the internet
that trying to reformat a USB drive has destroyed it." If writing
filesystem information to a USB drive destroys it, then I can't see that you
wouldn't lose your data anyways, since that is all a format is really doing.
I hope that makes sense - my first cup of coffee is sitting in front of me,
undrunk as of yet.
