I picked up a 8GB USB drive at Micro Center. It is one of their store brand
devices. When I went to use it I realized it is formated FAT32 which has a
4GB file size limit. The reason I got the drive was to move large (6-7GB)
files. I know ext2 can support larger files, but I hesitate to reformat the
USB drive for fear of destroying it. (I have seen some indications on the
internet that trying to reformat a USB drive has destroyed it.)
My thought is to keep a small FAT32 partition to store the Windows and Mac
ext2 drivers in case I need them one of these systems.
Has anyone formated a USB drive as ext2?
Thanks,
