It's almost certainly a broken connection at the power jack or a
broken power jack.  This is a common problem -- the power plug acts
like a lever to damage the PC board that the jack is soldered to, or
even pry the connector itself apart.  These connectors are fairly
common and the PCB can be repaired as needed, locally.
