Not gonna work very well with the cover off and all sorts of gigantic
dust particles
10x bigger than the "flying height" of the heads getting between those heads
and the platters.

So, it's kind of expensive for a high-tech paperweight.
As a personal policy, I don't take the cover off until AFTER it's
stopped working.
