[mdlug] ECS A770M-A motherboard SATA controller failure

For installation and operations I gravitate to motherboards that give good performance.  

Early XP did not work well with SATA/SATA II BUT you can stop installation and load a driver from a floppy.

With Linux I have not really had problems loading the OS.  Except for that ECS board that I got from Fry's when I bought an E6600 Intel CPU.  I solved the problem by getting an MSI board.

For My Linux Note book computer the Wifi cards did not work until I got a 3COM card.

There is a reason I concluded that the ECS board was free, It might have had issues.

Just to be clear: I don't overclock, and whatever the problem with this
motherboard, it wasn't caused by overclocking. I haven't seen any
*visibly* bad caps, but...
