     Tried this one out after getting another copy at WashLUG. No 
advances since April; still
version 8.04. My main issues with other distros have been: Display, 
Wireless, Printer, Video
and Sound.

     Display: Resolutions available past 1100 by 960; okay.
     Printer: Samsung 1710 printer found; okay.
     Sound: Working.

     Wireless:
     My acx100 based wireless card seems to work well enough for 
Kubuntu to find the various
wireless access points near me and give me a graphical of all their 
signal strengths. If I click on
any of the open ones, however, it shows an Attempting to Connect, 
progress bar at 28%, for
however long I set the timeout (moved it to about a minute), and 
fails to connect. It could be
that I need better conditions for radio transception; the connection 
is usually difficult to maintain
under Fedora Core 4. But I *am* able to connect with Fedora.

     Video:
     Tried kaffiene with both an .mp4 and a .wmv; files I've had for 
at least a year. Doesn't have the
codecs. Can't they ship this package with the ability to play stuff 
that's been out there a while ON
THE CD so that I don't have to go after more drivers?
