Turn off video and BIOS caching.  Graphical Ubuntu Gutsy and Feisty
require >256MB to install.  Hardy has improved this somewhat but
integrated video uses some of the RAM for itself so the OS ends up
with less.  Try Damn Small Linux to see what happens.  With the next
Ubuntu release so close I usually use a minimal CD version so I don't
waste lots of time downloading the updates as a separate step:
