There's Battery Giant - http://www.batterygiant.com/ - in Sterling 
Heights and Troy.

I just had a couple of battery packs for my rechargeable drill rebuilt 
for $30 a piece by them. The service was pretty quick although it's too 
soon to know how well the batteries will last. They have your battery 
but the price isn't much better then Dell's - $180 not including tax.

I don't know if they rebuild laptop packs but you might want to ask 
about that.
