[mdlug] Finding CD-ROM

A couple of weeks ago I installed Gentoo on my system with no
problems, until I tried to boot into my installed system.  It could
not find the real_root drive /dev/sda3 (/boot was on /dev/sda1).

I had to recompile the kernel to include the SATA support into the
kernel, not as a module.  Check your grub/lilo boot parameters and see
if real_root is defined.
