This must sound like a dumb question, but have you considered
Novell? The latest version of Novell runs on Linux. So anyone
with Linux experience will feel at home. It also is Novell, so
you should have no problem with keeping your current users and
permissions on filesystems. You would also have minimal recon-
figuration of desktops and little if any user training. And
Novell includes web-based management tools that covers more
than just the filesystems. Is there a reason that you don't
want to go that route?
