    This, I completely agree with. The changes to the GUI and basic 
programs, like Search, File Browsing and such would provide me with a 
pounding ache in the head around these parts.

    I don't mind the need to upgrade/replace portions of an OS. I really 
dislike the bizarre need to radically redesign the GUI every other 
iteration of an OS. What they need to do is provide the option of 
running an old "themed" interface that could benefit from modern 
graphical enhancements.

    Thus, someone could be running a "Win 3.1" Desktop with 32-bit 
graphical icons, transparency and all the rest of the graphical hoo-hah 
that's available, while still maintaining near 100% familiarity with the 
locations of everything they are used to using.
