I have used it extensively; it's enabled by default under Knoppix
5.1.1 live CD/DVD-- when I installed the DVD to the hard drive, there
were minor HAL issues, but I fixed those. I've not experienced
disk-check problems going back-and forth with either my dual-boot
Lin/Win XP setup or live CD/Win XP usage. It's a bit slower than
writing to vfat or ext3 file systems, since it uses HAL + FUSE as a
transitional layer, but it works just fine-- no errors or lost data in
~5 months heavy use on both internal and USB-connected drives.
In Krusader, NTFS partitions are shown as (fuseblk) and full
read/write access is allowed.
