According to dictionary.com, a robot is:
1. a machine that resembles a human and does mechanical, routine
tasks on command.
2. a person who acts and responds in a mechanical, routine manner,
usually subject to another's will; automaton.
3. any machine or mechanical device that operates automatically
with humanlike skill. -adjective
4. operating automatically: a robot train operating between airline
terminals.
The drobo does meet the 3rd and 4th definitions ;)

According to Jim Shaw (marketing person doing the demo), he described it
as the worlds first "storage robot". Where is the mechanical arm that
changes the drives for you? Doesn't seem to have any "robotic" features
that I could see. Maybe a better description would be, "the most
user-friendly storage device" or "most intelligent storage device".
Looks like the price reflects that fact too. Pretty much a no-brainer
as far as storage arrays go. Very cool.
