Tim,
You really didn't say about how many machines total you were trying to hook
up. But from the sounds of it, you might have a few cabinets of 6
servers...? I would definetly look into a Cyclades box (which run on
Linux). I just did a search on eBay and saw a couple of them listed for
~$500 with at least 16 ports.
