Depends heavily on "how old". The key is RAM. Xubuntu, for example, uses
XFCE as its desktop environment, and can operate with 64MB RAM. But for a
while I had a PII-450 running normal Gnome Ubuntu (up to about 6.06 or os)
with 384MB RAM. Once I even booted it up with "mem=96M" and it worked okay.
Only one app could really be used at a time, but it was usable.

I managed to get Debian + XFCE installed onto a P-133 laptop w/32MB RAM,
but I never really got it to be usable. I think if I could have squeezed
another 32MB in there it would have been okay.

 Sincerely,

 Ray Ingles (313) 227-2317

If George Bush thinks "gay marriage" is such a big deal that he
needs to muck with our Constitution, why didn't he push for it
to be written into Iraq's new one?
