Another quick example:

I borrowed a DVD from the public library last week.  It had about 15 minutes 
of unskippable previews and advertisements;  then it had some sort of scratch 
(or perhaps the DVD player just wasn't good at reading double-layer discs) 
that caused it to reset after about 5 minutes of the actual movie,  no matter 
which part I skipped to using the menu.
