[mdlug] [C++ QUESTION] how to throw exception on c library segfault

C++ users,

I vaguely remember that there was a simple idiom to throw an exception
(and debugging info) when a c library call segfaulted.

I believe that sigaction(2) was involved.

I've been unable to find an example, but am confident I can rederive
it.  However, I and ask here in the hope that someone knows it
without wasting much of their time.
